The 36HKT Workshop will be organised by the AGH University of Krakow, Poland and includes:
– oral and poster presentations during plenary sessions (17–19 June)
– five-day field trip to the Polish-Slovak-Czech Outer and Inner Carpathians (20–24 June)

2. 3rd IGCP 710 Symposium, September 2024, Turkey; The 3rd IGCP 710 Symposium will be organised by co-leader of this project prof. İsmail Ömer YILMAZ (Middle East Technical University, Ankara, Turkey) in the middle September together with IGCP 739 Project (The Mesozoic-Palaeogene hyperthermal events) – forther details will be announced separately
PAST ACTIVITIES
- In 2023 Second Symposium of the IGCP 710 Project – WESTERN TETHYS MEETS EASTERN TETHYS was organised in Krakow, Poland. The Symposium included two days of plenary sessions and five days of field trip in the Polish, Slovak and Czech Carpathians.
- In 2022 year, one of our co-leader (Dr Kabi Raj Paudyal – Tribhuvan University, Kathmandu, Nepal) was a main chairman of the 35th Himalaya-Karakorum-Tibet Workshop in Pokhara (Central Nepal) https://ngs.org.np/hkt-2022/ and organised the IGCP 710 Special Session during this meeting. Additionally, Michał Krobicki and Krzysztof Starzec were co-leaders of the 35th HKT Field Trip to the Kali Gandaki Valley;
- During the 18th Serbian Geological Congress (June 1-4; Divčibare) https://sgd.rs/en/early-announcement-18-serbian-geological-congress-divcibare/ in 2022 we had Special Session of the IGCP 710 Project.
- Alpine Workshop XV & IGCP 710 Project Meeting; Ljubljana, Slovenia; September 12-14, 2022 (Michał Krobicki was a member of the Scientific Committee of this workshop invited by the main chair of this event – prof. Boštjan Rožič).
- Simultaneously with Alpine Workshop the 16th InterRad (International Conference on Fossil and Living Radiolaria; September 12-14, 2022, Ljubljana, Slovenia) https://interrad2020.zrc-sazu.si/ was organised by Dr Špela Goričan (President of InterRad Society), who is a co-leader of the IGCP 710 Project.
- 11th International Congress on the Jurassic System; Budapest, Hungary; August 29 – September 9, 2022 https://jurassicdotstratigraphydotorg.wordpress.com/meetings/ Michał Krobicki was a member of the Scientific Committee and organised a Special Session of the IGCP 710.
- PANGEO Symposium; Leoben, Austria; September 10-13, 2022; Special Session of the IGCP-710 was organised by Hans-Jürgen Gawlick (co-leader of the IGCP 710) where Hans-Jürgen Gawlick and Michał Krobicki (leader of the IGCP 710) were main chairs of this session (Session Program, p. 5 http://www.kgos.agh.edu.pl/download/IGCP710/2022_PANGEO/2022_PANGEO_Sessions.pdf ).
- 6th International Palaeontological Congress; Khon Kaen, Thailand; November 7-11, 2022 (Special Session of the IGCP 710: Palaeobiogeography of the Western and Eastern Tethys – migration routes and palaeoceanography).
- We proposed and organised special session of our IGCP 710 during 35th IAS Meeting of Sedimentology (June 22-24, 2021) in Prague (Czech Republic) as Special Session (T05-SS07 – Western Tethys meets Eastern Tethys – sedimetological perspective); Book of abstracts
- During annual meeting of the China National Committee of IGCP we presented activities of the IGCP 710 Project; November 13-14, Beijing, China; 1; 2; 3; 4;
- We organised the Inaugural Symposium of the International Geoscience Programme IGCP Project 710; November 15-16, 2021, Krakow, Poland (online Symposium); (3rd circular; introduction; final).
- UNESCO Project IGCP-700; Paleozoic Carbonate Build-ups in South Eeast Asia; 13th – 16th December 2021; Thailand. (Final circular).
